For Tiffany {Saint John Baby Photographer, Saint John Child Photography}

I am lucky to call Tiffany a friend as well as a longtime client, and as always, I was looking forward to a session at the Farm. This time there was a bonus, as I also had the chance to meet T's brother, sister-in-law and sweet baby niece, B.

The weather was gorgeous, the beach was intact despite Tropical Storm Irene roaring through not long before, and everything went as smoothly as anything can go when you do ANYTHING involving children. The evidence is in the gorgeous images below.

Sweet Baby M {Saint John Newborn Photographer, Saint John Baby Photography}

Some days new ones just don't want to be in the spotlight. I get it. I like to be BEHIND the camera, not in front of it. So, when my littlest subjects object, they get a second kick at the can. 

That's just what we did with little Mr. M, who was not ready for his closeups the first time around. But, as these things usually do, all worked out for the best, as we got the opportunity to do some studio AND natural light. 

M, thank you for giving me my baby fix and giving me the opportunity to photograph your sweet baby boy.

 

 

 

 

For My Favourite Heather {Ottawa Child Photographer, Saint John Photographer}

Another year, another chance to work with Heather's gorgeous little girl, H.

I first met Heather, Bob and little H last year, and we had a great time traipsing around a lovely Ottawa green space, playing at the park and trying to avoid the eight million geese following us around at the park. We got some killa shots, you can see last year's Sneak Peek right here:

This year, Heather chose an amazing spot - an historic old mill with lovely old stone, incredible foliage and deep blue rushing water. Just gorgeous.

I have had such a crazy string of location sessions, which, given the amazing place I am is a given, but it is always a treat to be able to work with my studio gear as well during the summer. With this session (a Studio to Go Session), I do a part of the session outdoors, but then move inside and set up a small studio where ever I happen to be. In this case, a house with EXACTLY the type of decor I would make a set out of in my own studio - so I was very excited to see how these were going to look.

Add a gorgeous family on top of a super location and a photog happy toplay with all her toys and you get - MAGIC.

Phew - getting caught up on the blog is busy business!

I think I have said recently that I don't often get to shoot at the time of day known as the "Photographer's Sweet Spot", so when I do, I like to play. And I love the results every time. Completely amazing light. Yum.

I also loved being able to photograph this family - mom was super at wardrobe, dad was great and the kids were fun and into the whole thing. Even after a full day of summer camp, swimming and fun.

For JPenn {Ottawa Family Photographer}

I first met the ever fabulous JPenn during a trip to Boston in May, and just let me tell you, she rocks. So, I was tickled to get to photograph her family when I was in Ottawa this summer.

As the day dawned, the weather looked iffy, we had some storm clouds on the horizon, and her hubby had to get to Montreal to see U2 so rescheduling wasn't an option, but you know what? The sun came out, the family shots are fabulous, and JPenn made me a LOVELY custom grapefruit martini. YUM.

We are talking muddling and EVERYTHING, y'all.

Oh - did I mention that she authors the uber-cool blog Martinis for Breakfast ? Jpenn is the original Girl with a Flask. Holla!
